Agility Dog Sport Fun Classes
Agility is a dog sport open to all dogs and was originally developed from equestrian show jumping. It is a fun way to spend time with your canine friends whilst negotiating an adventure playground for dogs. Some owners compete with their dogs at agility trials while others gain satisfaction by working with their dogs, forming a close bond and being part of a team.
In an agility course the handler directs his dog around many different obstacles which aim to test their intelligence and physical ability. As an educational and sporting activity it improves the dog’s integration into society and provides an acceptable way to reduce canine hyperactivity and boredom.
Agility training ensures that owners and dogs gain a good rapport with each other to form a perfect team. The speed of the dog is not always the issue, steadiness of work and accuracy is more essential for faultless course completion. If all else fails and dog and handler totally lose the plot then much hilarity and laughter is enjoyed by owners and spectators.
